General description of the collection: The Battle of Hue papers include oral interviews with four commanders concerning their activities, including command and control problems, coordination with U.S. Marine Corps and Vietnamese units, tactics and effectiveness of air cavalry units. The four principals are: Lieutenant General M. Collier Ross; Lieutenant General John J. Tolson III; Brigadier General Richard S. Sweet and Major General Joseph C. McDonough. All interviews concern Operation PEGASUS and the recapture of Khe Sanh - the Battle of Hue.
